![]() | LeMans Electro is back! D.R.I. continues the procession through dark soundscapes started with 2004's Coldlife. The Ministry and Skinny Puppy influences remain but also there is a new, experimental direction taken with this project. The album begins with Online Lover, a successful attempt to craft intelligent dance pop saturated with distortion and contains lyrics like"...whisper sweet nothings/on an mp3..." After Werk competes advantagously with any typical electroclash track and the pacman remix evokes an additional emotional element. El Presidente contains catchy, smart lyrics and an inventive bassline (the production throughout exhibits the progressive direction in which LeMans is going.) Closing the collection of album tracks is Private Investigation, an 80's-themed dance gem paying homage to old P.I. movies. Other standout tracks: Industry Funktion, BoomBox Chic and Blindfolds (one of my favorites!) also contains remixes by: Born Slippy, DJ Robbo, Johnny Ether and R9 records' own Junobot! | ||||||||||||
